A popular dining establishment in Bloomington is looking for a host who will manage guest check-ins and ensure a positive dining experience. Responsibilities include answering phones, taking reservations, and maintaining cleanliness in the restaurant. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. This is an hourly paid position requiring flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Visual scanning of the restaurant for clean, unoccupied tables is required.
• Must be able to interact verbally with management, servers, team members, and guests.
• Ability to take reservations and manage customer interaction effectively.

Responsibilities

• Check in all employees and manage the Open Table system.
• Answer phones and take reservations and takeout orders.
• Ensure menus are clean and the host stand is organized.
• Greet, check in, and seat guests.
• Collaborate with the manager to manage wait times.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for checking in all employees and highlighting on the Open Table system.
• Answer the phone, take reservations, and take takeout orders.
• Ensures menus are clean and organized.
• Greet, check in and seat guests.
• Print any special chits off open table with special instructions hand off to server upon their checking in.
• Review all of the open table reservations and map out the plan for the shift.
• Utilize open table to make sure to capture important information about guests.
• Work with manager on the floor to ensure the proper wait time.
• Ensure restrooms and the host stand are clean, stocked and organized.
• Interacts with guests to ensure positive dining experience.

Knowledge and Skills

• Excellent communication skills (verbally interacts with management, servers, team members and guests.)
• Basic reading skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must visually scan restaurant for clean, unoccupied tables.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is an hourly paid position. Days and hours of work vary according to business hours and job requirements. Business operates seven (7) days a week; and hours start as early as 9 AM and can go as late as 2 AM depending on the work required.
