Job summary

CRAVE American Kitchen & Sushi Bar in Minneapolis is looking for a host/hostess to manage guest check-ins and reservations while ensuring a pleasant dining experience. Responsibilities include answering the phone, organizing reservations, and maintaining cleanliness in the restaurant.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, basic computer skills, and the ability to multi-task. This position requires availability for varying hours, typically starting from early afternoon until late evening, including weekends.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for checking in all employees and highlighting on the Open Table system.
• Answer the phone, take reservations, and take takeout orders.
• Ensures menus are clean and organized.
• Greet, check in and seat guests.
• Print any special chits off open table with special instructions hand off to server upon their checking in.
• Review all of the open table reservations and map out the plan for the shift.
• Utilize open table to make sure to capture important information about guests.
• Work with manager on the floor to ensure the proper wait time.
• Ensure restrooms and the host stand are clean, stocked and organized.
• Interacts with guests to ensure positive dining experience.

Knowledge and Skills

• Excellent communication skills (verbally interacts with management, servers, team members and guests.)

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is an hourly paid position. Days and hours of work vary according to business hours and job requirements. Business operates seven (7) days a week; and hours start as early as 9 AM and can go as late as 2 AM depending on the work required. Typically weekday shifts start at 3:45 and go until 10:00 but hours vary. Weekend lunch hours vary.
