Job summary

Block by Block is hiring a Hospitality Ambassador to enhance street environments and public spaces. You will interact with the public, guide pedestrians, and help keep zones clean and safe during a 2:30pm–11:30pm shift, with weekend availability.

A valid driver's license is required, and training is provided if needed. Weekly pay, pay advances, PTO, free uniforms, and employee assistance are among the benefits offered by Block by Block.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate with the public in a friendly, professional manner.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English to complete basic reports.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high level of visibility at street level to improve the zone experience and appearance.
• Greet and assist pedestrians with directions and city information.
• Remove litter and debris from streets, sidewalks, and alleys; pull weeds as needed.
• Damp wipe and straighten outdoor surfaces such as trash can lids and news boxes.
• Report safety concerns to Safety Ambassadors and complete daily task reports in English.

Job Title: Hospitality Ambassador

Pay Range: $24.00 to $24.00 per hour (Weekly Pay & Pay Advance Before Payday!)

What You'll Be Doing :

• This role will provide a high level of visibility at the street level to carry out a wide variety of tasks to improve the overall experience and appearance of the zone they are assigned to. Must maintain a positive, professional demeanor at all times.
• Actively acknowledge and engage pedestrians and visitors with a friendly greeting/smile in order to provide directions and/or city information.
• Litter removal -- While moving through the zone with a rolling trash can that has supplies/tools, remove litter: fast food bags, cups, soda cans, cigarette butts, and other debris on the streets/sidewalks and alleys. Remove graffiti and posters from light posts, trash cans, news boxes, etc. Pull weeds.
• Damp wipe and straighten outdoor surfaces, such as trash can lids, news boxes, etc.
• Be watchful for unwanted behaviors or criminal activity and report to the Safety Ambassadors via two-way radios. Must be able to complete basic daily reports of tasks completed, which requires being proficient in speaking, reading, and writing the English language.

Requirements

• Experience preferred, but not required. We will train.
• Must have a H.S. Diploma or GED
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have the physical capacity to walk and ( may include riding a 3-wheeled bike cart ) continuously during an eight-hour shift, with two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch break.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions (free uniforms provided)
• Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language in order to create basic reports.
