Job summary

Block by Block is hiring a Hospitality Ambassador in Milwaukee, WI. The role focuses on friendly public engagement, safety, cleaning, and maintaining an inviting street environment. You will greet visitors, provide directions, and help keep the area clean and orderly during weekend shifts.

Hourly pay starts at $18.00 with weekly pay and pay advances. Training is provided, and benefits include health coverage and PTO, with uniforms supplied for all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Must have a HS Diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Weekend availability required.
• Must be able to walk and work outdoors for a full eight‑hour shift.

Responsibilities

• Provide high visibility at street level to improve the zone experience and appearance.
• Greet pedestrians and visitors, give directions and city information as needed.
• Remove litter and graffiti, damp wipe outdoor surfaces, and straighten outdoor fixtures.
• Monitor for safety issues and report to Safety Ambassadors; complete basic daily reports in English.

• 9:00am to 5:00pm

What You'll Be Doing

• This role will provide a high level of visibility at the street level to carry out a wide variety of tasks to improve the overall experience and appearance of the zone they are assigned to. Must maintain a positive, professional demeanor at all times.
• Actively acknowledge and engage pedestrians and visitors with a friendly greeting/smile in order to provide directions and/or city information.
• Litter removal -- While moving through the zone with a rolling trash can that has supplies/tools, remove litter: fast food bags, cups, soda cans, cigarette butts, and other debris on the streets/sidewalks and alleys. Remove graffiti and posters from light posts, trash cans, news boxes, etc. Pull weeds.
• Damp wipe and straighten outdoor surfaces, such as trash can lids, news boxes, etc.
• Be watchful for unwanted behaviors or criminal activity and report to the Safety Ambassadors via two-way radios. Must be able to complete basic daily reports of tasks completed, which requires being proficient in speaking, reading, and writing the English language.
