Job summary

Block by Block is hiring a Hospitality Ambassador to enhance outdoor spaces in the city. You will engage pedestrians with friendly greetings, assist with directions, and maintain a clean, safe zone through litter removal and surface upkeep.

The role emphasizes visibility and professional conduct in all weather conditions. Weekly pay, pay advances, and benefits are offered; training is provided, and the company supports a diverse, inclusive workplace.

Qualifications

• Must have a HS Diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Able to walk and ride a 3-wheeled bike cart for an eight-hour shift with breaks.
• Work outdoors in all conditions; uniforms provided.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write English to create reports.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high-visibility street-level presence to improve the zone’s experience and appearance.
• Greet and assist pedestrians, providing directions and city information.
• Litter removal and graffiti/poster removal; weed pulling.
• Damp wipe and straighten outdoor surfaces as needed.
• Monitor for unsafe activity and report to Safety Ambassadors; complete basic daily task reports.

Job Title: Hospitality Ambassador

Pay Range: $17.00to $17.00per hour (Weekly Pay & Pay Advance Before Payday!)

Shift/Schedule:

• Sun. - Thu. from 1:30pm to 10:00pm
• Fri. & Sat. from 2:30pm to 11:00pm

What You’ll Be Doing:

• This role will provide a high level of visibility at the street level to carry out a wide variety of tasks to improve the overall experience and appearance of the zone they are assigned to. Must maintain a positive, professional demeanor at all times.
• Actively acknowledge and engage pedestrians and visitors with a friendly greeting/smile in order to provide directions and/or city information.
• Litter removal -- While moving through the zone with a rolling trash can that has supplies/tools, remove litter: fast food bags, cups, soda cans, cigarette butts, and other debris on the streets/sidewalks and alleys. Remove graffiti and posters from light posts, trash cans, news boxes, etc. Pull weeds.
• Damp wipe and straighten outdoor surfaces, such as trash can lids, news boxes, etc.
• Be watchful for unwanted behaviors or criminal activity and report to the Safety Ambassadors via two-way radios. Must be able to complete basic daily reports of tasks completed, which requires being proficient in speaking, reading, and writing the English language.
