Sinclair Community College is seeking a part-time Adjunct Faculty member in Hospitality Management and Tourism for the Dayton, OH area. The role involves teaching curriculum developed by the department, preparing syllabi, and using instructional technology to deliver courses.

The position requires at least an associate degree (or a master’s) in the field, plus relevant work experience and prior teaching, with a starting pay of $1,046 per credit hour.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in the content area or a master’s degree in the content area required.
• Three years of work experience in hospitality management or related fields preferred (meeting/event planning, lodging, or restaurant management).
• Evidence of prior teaching experience is preferred.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a culturally diverse college community.
• Proficiency with modern educational technology and multimedia instruction.

Responsibilities

• Adjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by the department.
• Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning.
• Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with policies.
• Employ appropriate teaching strategies and use instructional technology.
• Modify instructional methods to meet diverse students’ needs.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information and submit final grade rosters on time.
• Adjunct Faculty cannot be assigned to teach more than 12 credit hours per semester.
