Job summary

Sinclair Community College is seeking an HVAC Part-Time Adjunct Faculty to teach curriculum developed by the department at the main campus in Dayton, OH.

The role requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering technology or related field, with expected three years of HVAC field experience and teaching capabilities. Compensation starts at $1,046 per credit hour; employment is limited to eligible states and open to qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering technology or related field required, master’s degree preferred; OR must meet the specific requirements associated with Tested Experience: Minimum of an associate’s degree in the content area or related field and EPA 608 license when teaching courses involving refrigerants.
• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant HVAC field experience
• Experience with Tridium Niagara Workstation and Elitesoft RHVAC and CHVAC building loads software preferred
• Evidence of successful prior teaching experience is preferred
• Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies
• Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills with the capacity to work successfully in a culturally diverse college community
• Must possess demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology, including multimedia-based instruction

Responsibilities

• Adjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by the department
• Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learning
• Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policies
• Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, use available instructional technology when appropriate
• Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student’s needs
• Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success
• Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning
• Maintain accurate records of student progress
• Submit final grade rosters according to established deadlines
• Maintain confidentiality of student information
• Adjunct Faculty cannot be assigned to teach more than the maximum of 12 credit hours per semester
