Job summary

The Standard in New York City is seeking a Controller to safeguard the property's financial integrity by managing daily accounting workflows, enforcing internal controls, and delivering accurate financial reporting.

The role oversees income audit, accounts payable, payroll, and cost controls, collaborating with hotel leadership, auditors, and department heads to ensure robust financial governance and strategic finance direction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field (CPA/MBA preferred).
• 3+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience in hospitality or related field in a management role.
• Deep knowledge of hotel financial operations, USALI, GAAP.
• Strong expertise in financial systems, reporting, and data governance.
• Mastery of Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of departmental, hotel, and corporate policies and procedures; ensure compliance.
• Oversee daily income audit and review of Daily Revenue Report with all revenue streams.
• Oversee accounts payable processes, vendor setup, and 1099 reporting.
• Enforce purchasing controls and contract review authority.
• Prepare and present month-end financial statements and reports.
