HireIQ seeks a Controller/VP Financial Reporting to lead property accounting and corporate reporting across a New York City multifamily portfolio. This in-office role oversees the full close process and a distributed team, partnering with asset management and operations.

The role requires 8+ years in real estate accounting, GAAP expertise, and strong leadership, with advanced Yardi and Excel skills. NYC regulatory filings and lender reporting are integral to the function.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 8+ years of accounting experience, with strong real estate industry experience.
• Leadership experience managing accounting teams, including remote and offshore staff.
• Strong knowledge of accrual accounting and property-level financial reporting.
• Advanced proficiency in Yardi and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with NYC regulatory filings, including TC and RPIE.
• Strong understanding of audits, lender reporting, and financial compliance requirements.
• Highly organized with strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Responsabilités

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple properties and legal entities.
• Review and approve property-level financial statements, ensuring GAAP compliance and reporting accuracy.
• Independently review and sign off on property financial reporting and regulatory filings.
• Manage, mentor, and develop a distributed team of 8–10 property accountants, including remote and offshore staff.
• Oversee reconciliations including bank accounts, security deposits, taxes, and intercompany balances.
• Partner with Asset Management to analyze variances, performance trends, and NOI drivers.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management across the portfolio.
• Coordinate audits, tax filings, lender reporting, and external stakeholder requests.
• Drive process improvements, reporting enhancements, and strengthen internal controls.
• Build and enhance reporting tools and financial analysis using Microsoft Excel.
• Serve as the lead administrator for Yardi and support systems optimization initiatives.
• Oversee preparation and review of NYC regulatory filings, including TC and RPIE filings.
• Independently review and sign off on RPIE filings.
