Job summary

The Standard seeks a Controller to join the Finance team at The Standard, High Line, New York. You will safeguard the property’s financial integrity, manage daily accounting workflows, enforce internal controls, and deliver accurate reporting to the VP of Finance.

You will oversee revenue and expense accounting, payroll, tax filings, audits, and staff supervision, ensuring compliance with USALI/GAAP and delivering timely financial insights for leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field (CPA/MBA preferred)
• 3+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience in hospitality or adjacent industry in a management capacity
• Deep knowledge of hotel financial operations, USALI, GAAP
• Strong expertise in financial systems, reporting, and data governance
• Mastery of Microsoft Excel
• Preferred experience using Opera Cloud, Birchstreet, Dataplus, Toast, Paycom

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.
• Oversee daily income audit and Revenue Report reconciliation.
• Oversee accounts payable, vendor setup, and payments.
• Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation schedules.
• Prepare month-end financial statements and reporting.
• Lead and develop accounting team and ensure internal controls.
