Job summary

The Standard, High Line, is seeking a Controller to lead the Finance department and safeguard the hotel’s financial integrity. You will manage daily accounting workflows, enforce internal controls, and deliver accurate reporting, collaborating with departments, guests, vendors, and auditors.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s in finance or accounting (CPA/MBA preferred) with 3+ years in hospitality accounting, strong USALI/GAAP knowledge, and Excel mastery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field; CPA/MBA preferred.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience in hospitality or related industry in a management capacity.
• Deep knowledge of hotel financial operations, USALI, GAAP.
• Strong expertise in financial systems, reporting, and data governance.
• Mastery of Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of departmental, hotel, and corporate policies and procedures and ensure compliance.
• Oversee daily income audit and review Daily Revenue Report; ensure revenue is posted and reconciled across PMS/POS/GL.
• Oversee accounts payable workflows, vendor setup, and year-end 1099 reporting; enforce purchasing controls.
• Ensure payroll processing and related reporting; manage cash handling and PCI compliance.
• Prepare and present month-end financial statements and related reporting per corporate standards.
