About the Role

As a Hospitality Coordinator with True Friends, you’ll help create welcoming, clean, and positive experiences for the guests and groups who visit our camp. This is a hands‑on role that combines retreat and hospitality support, housekeeping, customer service, and team coordination. You’ll work directly with guests, support the housekeeping team, help prepare and maintain camp spaces, and assist with the day‑to‑day operations that keep retreats and hospitality running smoothly. You’ll also have opportunities to take on additional responsibility by providing on‑call leadership, supporting international staff, and serving as Acting Manager when the Hospitality & Retreat Manager is unavailable.

What You’ll Do

• Oversee, train, and mentor members of the housekeeping team, including assisting with scheduling responsibilities
• Complete daily general cleaning of cabins and community buildings
• Help ensure camp spaces are clean, organized, and ready to welcome guests
• Host retreat groups at camp and provide on‑call leadership as scheduled
• Build positive relationships with group leaders and provide high‑quality customer service to guests
• Assist with retreat group check‑in and check‑out
• Collaborate with multiple departments to help ensure guest needs are met
• Support the Hospitality & Retreat Manager with day‑to‑day retreat, housekeeping, and hospitality operations
• Serve as Acting Manager when the Hospitality & Retreat Manager is unavailable
• Serve as a liaison for International Support Staff
• Communicate operational updates, concerns, and needs to your supervisor
• Open and operate the Canteen during Summer Camp sessions, including collecting payments, tracking sales, unloading and organizing merchandise shipments, and stocking inventory
• Perform other duties as assigned

Schedule

• Schedule varies based on retreat, hospitality, and program needs
• Includes days, evenings, weekends, and non‑traditional hours
• Must be available a minimum of two weekends per month
• Retreat hosting includes on‑call leadership responsibilities, with a minimum of one weekend per month
• Specific hours and schedules may vary throughout the year based on camp and guest needs

What You’ll Bring To The Table

• Customer service experience, with experience in hospitality, camping, and/or housekeeping
• Previous housekeeping experience is desired
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to adapt quickly and make sound decisions in a fast‑paced environment
• A demonstrated desire to serve others and create positive guest experiences
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff across multiple departments
• Proficient computer skills, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Ability to successfully pass the required organizational background study

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Walk, sit, stand, bend, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and move throughout the workday
• Lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds
• Use hands and fingers to operate tools, equipment, and controls
• Hear and communicate verbally with guests, coworkers, and supervisors
• Work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Work in wet and/or humid conditions and periods of extreme heat or cold
• Occasionally work with or around cleaning chemicals
• Work evenings, weekends, and non‑traditional hours based on program and guest needs
• Participate in on‑call responsibilities as scheduled

Compensation

The Hospitality Coordinator is paid an hourly rate based on experience, ranging from $18.40 - $19.28.
