About the Role
As a Retreat Host, you’ll help create memorable experiences for guests by providing welcoming, responsive service from check-in through check-out. You’ll serve as an onsite point of contact for retreat groups, helping group leaders navigate their stay, responding to needs, and making sure their experience runs smoothly.
This is a guest-focused role that combines customer service, organization, problem-solving, and hands-on support. Retreat Hosts are also responsible for being on-call during scheduled guest stays and responding to onsite needs within approximately 15 minutes when scheduled/on-call.

What You’ll Do
Your responsibilities may include:
- Review and assist with meeting space setup prior to events
- Assist guests and group leaders with check-in and check-out
- Serve as an onsite point of contact throughout guest stays
- Remain on-call during assigned guest stays and respond to onsite needs within approximately 15 minutes
- Check in with guests and group leaders during mealtimes and throughout their stay
- Monitor guest needs and help resolve questions or concerns
- Manage schedule changes and assist with adjustments as needed
- Communicate guest experiences, hosting updates, and operational needs to the Hospitality & Retreats Manager
- Help ensure facilities and meeting spaces are ready for guests
- Conduct general cleaning of cabins, public buildings, and other assigned spaces as needed
- Work collaboratively with Hospitality, Facilities, Foodservice, and other teams to support a positive guest experience
- Perform other duties as assigned

Schedule
- Part-time, year-round
- Specific schedules and time commitments vary by assignment and location
- Work schedules may include weekdays, weekends, evenings, and/or holidays based on retreat schedules and guest needs
- On-call responsibilities are required during assigned guest stays
- When scheduled/on-call, Retreat Hosts must be able to respond to onsite needs within approximately 15 minutes
- Schedule flexibility is important, as retreat schedules and guest needs may vary
What You’ll Bring to the Table
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be able to pass the required organizational background study
- Previous customer service, hospitality, event planning, or related experience is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to provide welcoming and professional service to guests
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in time-sensitive situations

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This is an active position involving both indoor and outdoor work and frequent interaction with guests, group leaders, and staff. Retreat Hosts should be prepared to:
- Work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities based on guest needs and programming
- Work indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
- Walk, sit, stand, bend, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and move throughout the workday
- Hear and communicate verbally in English
- Use hands and fingers to operate tools, equipment, and controls
- Lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 30 pounds
- Respond to onsite needs within approximately 15 minutes when scheduled/on-call
- Interact professionally and frequently with guests, group leaders, and coworkers

Compensation
- New Retreat Hosts are paid an hourly rate of $16.59/hour
- Returning staff may be eligible for a higher rate based on previous True Friends’ experience
