Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Telecommunications team member to manage hospital calls on the AMCOM/Alcatel system, directing calls and assisting outbound dialing. Duties include monitoring emergency panels, paging staff, troubleshooting pagers, and basic phone repairs.

Shift details include overnights, some evenings, weekends, and some holidays. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of experience, with fluency in English and good keyboarding/typing skills

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 1 year experience.
• Must type 30 wpm and have good keyboarding skills.
• Ability to speak English fluently with clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Answer all incoming/internal calls on the AMCOM/Alcatel system.
• Direct calls to the appropriate department/individual.
• Aid callers dialing out.
• Respond to signals from the emergency panel and wall.
• Notify required personnel during emergencies per policy.
• Monitor cameras and notify Public Safety when needed.
• Page hospital personnel upon request and manage overhead pages.
• Troubleshoot and exchange broken pagers; maintain database.
• Perform minor phone repairs and exchange in staff/patient areas.
• Log and report trouble into Telecom analyst/AMCOM systems.
• Maintain staff schedules and cover absences when needed.
• Arrive on time for scheduled shifts and be ready to take calls.
