Job summary

Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls is seeking a PRN, day/evening/weekend/holiday shift operator to support the hospital switchboard, paging, and emergency communications. You will handle inbound/outbound calls, direct the public, monitor alarms, and assist with video surveillance as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires high school or GED or related experience, the ability to multitask, clear communication, and professionalism in all interactions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or 1 year related experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively with others.
• Visual acuity and ability to use hospital switchboard and phone systems.

Responsibilities

• Handle large volumes of inbound and outbound calls promptly.
• Identify needs, clarify information, research solutions.
• Follow scripts for call scenarios, alarms, and codes.
• Maintain professionalism and patient/customer care.
• Operate overhead paging for emergencies and information.
