Job summary

Avera McKennan Hospital is seeking a PRN Call Center Associate to handle inbound and outbound calls, direct the public, and support emergency communications. You will monitor paging systems, alarms, and video where applicable, while maintaining confidentiality and a patient-first attitude.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will communicate clearly, follow scripts, and adapt quickly to changing priorities, including weekend and holiday shifts.

Qualifications

• High School or GED Equivalent or 1 year related experience/training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong communication and confidentiality are essential.

Responsibilities

• Handles inbound and outbound calls with efficiency and courtesy.
• Directs the general public and screens calls according to procedures.
• Monitors alarms and paging systems and assists with emergency communications.
• Maintains knowledge of the hospital switchboard and related software.
• Supports department operations during evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.

Work where you matter.A Brief OverviewResponsible for processing inbound and outbound calls, directing the general public, making overhead announcements, monitoring video surveillance, monitoring critical alarms, and processing emergency medical codes.What you will doHandles large amounts of inbound and outbound calls in a timely manner.Identifies customer needs, clarifies information, researches, and provides solutions and/or alternatives.Follows communication scripts for various call scenarios, alarms, and emergency codes.Skillfully changes from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure.Actively participates in efforts to support customer satisfaction and maintain quality.Effectively communicates with patience and understanding.
