Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking a Security Agent to protect life and property across campus locations, patrolling on foot or by vehicle and responding to alarms and emergencies. The role enforces access control and helps maintain a secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Required are California Guard Registration, a valid driver’s license, and two years of security experience or equivalent; BART and IAHSS certifications must be obtained within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• California Guard Registration is required.
• Valid driver's license with driving record per local policies.
• Two (2) years of security or security-related experience or equivalent.
• BART and IAHSS certified within six months of hire date.
• Skills, knowledge, and ability essential to perform duties.
• Ability to adhere to dress code at all times.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.

Responsibilities

• Patrols UCSD Health Sciences premises on foot or in a vehicle to protect life and property.
• Responds to fire/security alarm activations and assumes scene command in emergencies.
• Manage disruptive persons professionally with a minimum use of force and control access to restricted areas.
• Observe and report safety hazards and provide direction to UCSD Enterprise clientele.
