Job summary

UC San Diego Health Security Services seeks a dedicated Security Agent to protect premises, patients, visitors and staff. Under general supervision, you will patrol on foot or by vehicle, manage disruptive persons, control access to restricted areas and respond to alarms, with scene command in emergencies.

The position includes on‑the‑job training for new Security Agents, collaboration with the Security Operations Center and Dispatch, and ongoing departmental training to maintain the step 2

Qualifications

• 18 months experience as HA2 with UCSDH Security Services, or 1 year HA2 plus 3 years supervisory leadership in healthcare/law enforcement/military.
• Valid California driver's license and driving record per local policies; enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program.
• California Guard Registration.
• Must possess a current BART & IAHSS advanced certification prior to appointment to HA3.
• No disciplinary action or attendance-related issues within the last two years.
• Must complete 40 hours of training within the Security Operations Center (SOC) within 6 months and pass SOC exam with 80%.

Responsibilities

• Patrol UCSD Health Sciences premises on foot or in a vehicle to protect life and property.
• Handle disruptive persons professionally with a minimum use of force and control access to restricted areas.
• Respond to fire/security alarm activations and assume scene command in emergencies.
• Provide on‑the‑job training to new Security Agents and support SOC/Dispatch as needed.
