Endeavor Health in Evanston, IL is seeking a Public Safety Officer to provide unarmed, uniformed security and safety services. Duties include patrols, incident reporting, and escort support to patients and staff across Hospital Grounds.

The role requires vigilance, customer service skills, and the ability to respond to emergencies. Training in CPI/CPR and state licenses is required within specified timelines, with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a customer-focused service-based organization.
• Knowledge from two years of experience in law enforcement, military or private security is preferred.
• Healthcare environment experience is preferred.
• Fundamental understanding of computers, loss prevention and fire/security technology is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Patrols assigned areas of facilities and grounds on foot or in motorized vehicle according to schedule and investigates unusual occurrences.
• Reports incidents or loss of hospital, employee, patient or visitor property and involves police when necessary and assists during investigations.
• Responds to service calls in a timely, safe, professional manner.
• Welcomes customers to the Hospital and provides directions to patients and visitors; assists with escort when possible.
• Directs vehicle traffic around hospital facilities to prevent congestion and ensures loading docks and ambulance zones are clear of unauthorized vehicles.
• Physically restrains unruly individuals and involves police when needed; assists with court testimony if required.
• Administers control systems to protect valuables and hospital equipment; monitors lost and found items.
• Checks doors and windows, inspects alarms and fire safety equipment and notifies personnel of issues.
• Investigates and documents thefts, accidents and other incidents to obtain evidence and prepares documentation.
