Job summary

Endeavor Health is hiring a Public Safety Officer for Evanston Hospital in Evanston, IL. This full-time role runs 6am–6:30pm on a rotating schedule with two-week cycles.

You will patrol facilities, respond to incidents, direct traffic, and assist visitors while upholding hospital safety policies. Required: High School Diploma or GED and at least one year in a customer-focused service role; preferred: healthcare security experience and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of one year experience in a customer-focused service-based organization.

Responsibilities

• Patrols assigned areas of facilities and grounds on foot or in motorized vehicle according to established schedule and investigates unusual occurrences.
• Reports incidents or potential loss of hospital, employee, patient or visitor property and involves police when necessary.
• Responds to service calls in a timely, safe, professional manner.
• Welcomes customers to the hospital and provides directions to patients and visitors.
• Directs vehicle traffic to prevent congestion and manages restricted zones.
• Physically restrains unruly individuals when necessary and coordinates with police.
• Protects valuables, monitors lost and found items, and checks security equipment.
• Investigates thefts and incidents to gather evidence and document findings.
