Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Public Safety Officer for Evanston Hospital, IL. This part-time per diem role covers varied shifts (6am–2:30pm, 2pm–10:30pm, 10pm–6:30am) with travel to other sites as needed.

You will patrol, report incidents, escort and direct traffic, and assist in security operations to protect people and property. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, 1+ year of customer-service experience, CPR, and an Illinois FOID card within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year in a customer-focused service-based organization.
• Knowledge of computers, loss prevention and fire/security technology.
• Valid Illinois Firearm Owner’s Identification Card within 90 days.
• Current CPR certification within 90 days.
• Valid driver's license with vehicle liability coverage if using personal car.
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) within six months.
• IAHSS Basic Healthcare Security Officer certification within twelve months.

Responsibilities

• Provide unarmed uniformed security/safety services across hospital facilities.
• Respond to service calls with timely, safe and courteous conduct.
• Direct traffic, escort patients/visitors when needed and monitor access points.
• Investigate incidents, document findings, and involve police when required.
• Inspect doors, windows, alarms and equipment for proper operation.
