Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Public Safety Officer for Skokie Hospital on a part-time per diem basis. In this role, you will provide unarmed security and safety services, protect people and property, and assist with patient and visitor needs while maintaining a secure hospital environment.

Responsibilities include patrolling facilities, reporting incidents, assisting police when needed, and coordinating with staff to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

• Required HS Diploma or GED.
• Preferred: 2+ years in law enforcement, military, or private security.
• Requires IL Firearm Owner’s ID Card within 90 days of start date.
• CPR certification within 90 days of start date.
• A valid driver’s license is required; personal vehicle may be used with auto liability coverage.
• CPI certification within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide unarmed uniformed security and safety services under supervision.
• Protect persons and property and cooperate with police when needed.
• Perform duties of bicycle patrol officer when required.
• Patrol facilities and grounds, investigate unusual occurrences.
• Report incidents and assist in police investigations as needed.
• Respond to service calls promptly and courteously.
• Assist patients, visitors with directions and escorts when possible.
• Direct traffic around hospital facilities to prevent congestion.
• Ensure critical areas are free of unauthorized vehicles and secure premises.
