Job summary

Endeavor Health is hiring a Public Safety Officer at Evanston Hospital in Evanston, IL. This per diem, part-time role involves varied shifts from early morning to overnight and travel to partner sites as needed.

You will perform unarmed security duties, patrol facilities, respond to incidents, and assist patients, staff and visitors while maintaining a safe environment. Ideal candidates bring a High School Diploma or GED, customer-service experience, and relevant security or law enforcement

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of one year experience in a customer-focused service-based organization.
• Preferred two years of experience in law enforcement, military, or private security.
• Healthcare environment experience is a plus.
• CPR/CPR-like certification and related security credentials may be required.

Responsibilities

• Patrols facilities and grounds on foot or by vehicle as scheduled.
• Reports incidents and potential losses; assists police when needed.
• Responds to service calls in a timely, safe, and courteous manner.
• Greet customers and provide directions to locations on Hospital grounds.
• Directs vehicle traffic and enforces parking rules.
• Restraints and police involvement as necessary; may testify in court.
• Protects valuables and monitors lost items; manages found items.
• Inspects doors, windows, alarms and equipment; notifies problems.
• Investigates thefts/incidents to gather evidence.
