Raleigh General Hospital seeks a Security Officer to protect patients, staff and facility across Raleigh General properties as part of Lifepoint Health. You will patrol, report incidents, monitor lobbies and support emergency operations to ensure a safe environment.

The role requires calm under pressure, clear communication, physical endurance for rounds, and collaboration with hospital teams. Full-time, rotating shifts with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Ability to remain calm, think clearly, and respond effectively during stressful or emergency situations
• Professional communication skills when interacting with patients, visitors, healthcare staff, and emergency personnel
• Comfortable managing challenging or confrontational situations while maintaining compassion and professionalism
• Physically capable of extensive walking, standing, bending, and occasional lifting or assisting with patient movement (5–50 lbs.)
• Strong observation and incident reporting skills to support a safe healthcare environment
• Ability to maintain composure and provide excellent service in a fast-paced, high-stress healthcare setting
• Comfortable working in varying conditions, including exposure to unpleasant sights, odors, and inclement weather while supporting hospital safety operations

Responsabilités

• Observes and reports activities and incidents for all Raleigh General Hospital properties.
• Providing for the security and safety property and personnel at Raleigh General Hospital.
• Makes periodic tours and documents checking for irregularities, perform fire watch when required.
• Preserves order and may act to enforce regulations and directives pertaining to personnel, patients, visitors, and premises.
• Frequent valuables collection & returns of patient’s person property. This is a high liability process.
• Receiving, releasing, assisting employees, EMS and Medical Examiners with deceased bodies.
• Being utilized as a sitter during shift as needed and determined by the on-duty Nursing Supervisor and or Administrator on call. Sitters applies to all patient care areas within Raleigh General Hospital and aims to detect and ultimately ensure patient safety for those who are identified as at risk for suicide or self-harm.
• Providing relief for the Telecommunicators to include breaks and meal breaks
• Monitoring ED Lobby from the Security Desk, monitoring Main Lobby from the Volunteer Desk
