Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Hospital Security Officer in Summit, New Jersey. The role involves safeguarding a high-profile healthcare facility, patrolling premises, screening staff and visitors, and responding to emergencies. Requires customer service experience, alarm/badge familiarity, and a valid Guard Card/license.

Shifts include Monday–Sunday, morning, evening, and overnight. Competitive benefits apply; starting wage is $21.00 per hour.

Qualifications

Prior work experience involving dealing with customers, troubleshooting, and/or managing stressful situations.
Must be 21+ for start, and 18+ for unarmed roles (as applicable).
High school diploma or equivalent or 5 years verifiable experience.
Background check and drug screen required by law; licensing may be required.
Training and certification requirements including Management of Aggressive Behavior after offer.

Responsibilities

Observe and remain vigilant for signs of crime, disorder, hazard, and unusual activity.
Patrol on foot, bicycle, or via a vehicle to check for unsafe conditions, security violations, and unauthorized individuals.
De-escalate individuals verbally and physically when needed.
Inspect security devices and fire control equipment.
Screen visitors and staff to expedite admittance to the facility.
Respond to incidents (fire, medical, bomb threats, weather) with calm urgency.
Provide safety escort or assistance as needed.
