Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a full-time Hospital Security Officer for a site in Paterson, NJ. The role requires guarding a healthcare facility, monitoring premises, and ensuring the safety of staff and visitors.

The position offers Monday–Friday and weekend coverage with starting pay at $16.75 per hour. Eligible candidates must meet minimum requirements and complete required certifications.

Qualifications

• Prior work experience involving dealing with customers, troubleshooting, and/or managing stressful situations.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience.
• As a condition of employment, background investigation will be conducted in line with laws.
• As a condition of employment, a drug screen may be required.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws and may be required.
• Post offer, must complete training and obtain Management of Aggressive Behavior certification

Responsibilities

• Observe and remain vigilant for signs of crime, disorder, hazard, and unusual activity.
• Patrol on foot, bicycle, or vehicle to check for unsafe conditions and security violations.
• De-escalate individuals verbally and physically, as needed.
• Inspect security devices and fire control equipment.
• Screen members, visitors, and staff to expedite admittance.
• Respond to incidents such as fire, medical emergencies, or threats with calm urgency.
• May include patient escort or transport to morgue when required
