Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: High-school diploma or GED.
• Licensure: Valid driver’s license.
• Certification: IAHSS Basic exam within 90 days of hire; Basic Life Support within 9 months; Defensive Tactics in Healthcare.
• Behavioral Attributes: Interpersonal and communication skills; Writing skills.
• Physical Demands: Ability to operate a motor vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Investigates hospital incidents and disturbances to maintain security.
• Completes descriptive reports for supervisory personnel.
• Notifies police/fire and prepares reports for supervision.
• Performs regular patrols of buildings and grounds on foot and by vehicle.
• Conducts investigations into hazards, theft, or safety issues.
• Monitors access control, alarms, and video systems.
• Controls traffic for emergency access and incidents.
