Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Security Officer I for our Illinois facilities. This casual position supports hospital safety, conducts patrols, investigates incidents, and prepares reports to protect patients, staff and visitors.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, IAHSS Basic certification within 90 days, BLS within 9 months, and completion of Northwestern Medicine Defensive Tactics in Healthcare within 6 months. Benefits accompany employment.

Qualifications

• High-school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• IAHSS Basic exam within 90 days of hire; maintain certification.
• Current Basic Life Support certification within 9 months of hire.
• Northwestern Medicine Defensive Tactics in Healthcare within 6 months of hire.
• Interpersonal and communication skills; writing skills to complete reports.
• Physical ability to operate a motor vehicle.

Responsabilités

• Investigates/quells hospital incidents and disturbances to maintain security.
• Completes descriptive reports for supervisory personnel.
• Notifies appropriate officials and prepares descriptive reports.
• Performs regular perimeter and internal patrols of the hospital.
• Monitors access control, alarms, and security video system.
• Provides escorts for staff to their vehicles as requested.
• Responds to emergency codes in accordance with guidelines.
