Job summary

Nicklaus Children's Health System is seeking a Security Officer to patrol hospital buildings, grounds, and offsite locations to prevent fire, theft, vandalism and injuries. Works under the direction of the Shift Supervisor and the Manager.

The role requires guarding access, responding to alarms, escorting staff and visitors, and maintaining daily activity reports in alignment with hospital protocols. Florida driver’s license and security credentials are mandatory.

Qualifications

• AED within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• CPI certification within 90 days of hire and maintained.
• Active Florida driver’s license with clean driving record.
• FL Security D License within 90 days of hire and maintained.
• Complete NCH Security Training Program after probation.

Responsibilities

• Patrols and secures hospital buildings and grounds; respond to alarms and emergencies.
• Escort visitors, patients, and employees as needed for safety.
• Maintain logs and incident reports; document investigations per hospital standards.
• Provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors and staff.
• Assist clinical staff with Baker acts and related procedures as required.
• Ensure security measures and sign-in procedures are followed at all times.
