Job summary

Nicklaus Children's Health System is seeking an experienced Public Safety Supervisor to lead a team of officers across hospital facilities, grounds, and offsite locations. You will oversee hiring, training, performance management, and compliance with licensure and safety standards to maintain a secure environment for patients, families, and staff.

The role requires strong leadership, incident investigation skills, and the ability to respond to emergencies.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years' experience as a public safety officer
• Security D license highly preferred
• Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred
• Experience in hospital security and customer service preferred
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

Responsibilities

• Develops, creates, and presents officer training programs.
• Conducts performance evaluations and coaching conversations with staff.
• Manage staff performance documentation and career development.
• Ensure licensing, certifications, and education are current.
• Review incident reports and educate staff on preventive measures.
• Source, interview, and hire staff; manage staffing levels and overtime.
• Investigate incidents and conduct witness interviews professionally.
• Lead fire control and fire watch activities and drills.
• Respond to emergencies as needed and provide backup support.
• Conduct shift-change facility rounds to ensure awareness of safety issues.
