Job summary

UPMC Presbyterian is seeking a Retail Cook to create an exceptional dining experience for patients, visitors, families, and staff within the hospital retail environment. You will prepare fresh, high-quality foods and engage directly with guests in a friendly, welcoming manner.

The ideal candidate is personable, enjoys interacting with people, and demonstrates a passion for hospitality in an open kitchen. This role supports a 24/7 healthcare setting with rotating shifts and weekend/holiday

Qualifications

Experience in food service and hospitality.
Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
Availability for rotating shifts including weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

Produce high quality hot food products according to recipes and production sheets.
Prepare foods within designated timeframes; monitor usage to meet volume needs.
Provide courteous, helpful customer service daily.
Complete in-advance preparation for next day of service.
Adhere to safe food handling procedures at all times.
Maintain open kitchen area in inspection-ready condition.
Chill, store, and log prepared/leftover foods per health guidelines.
Follow SDS for chemicals and maintain safe storage near food areas.
Operate and maintain equipment per guidelines; follow safety procedures.
Deliver food to wait staff and guests as needed.
Provide guidance to culinary staff and supervise as needed.
Complete daily prep list to stock stations for service.
