About the Role

The Zone Maintenance Manager leads multiple supervisors overseeing the general maintenance of hospital and research facility buildings. Responsibilities include inspection, maintenance, and repair of building systems such as carpentry, painting, locksmith, life safety, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and refrigeration. The role ensures work is completed on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with applicable codes and regulations (CMS, The Joint Commission, NFPA, BOCA, city and state authorities). The manager participates in capital budgeting, scope development, technical review of both capital and operating initiatives, and manages diagnosis and recovery during outages and emergencies. General managerial duties include supervising staff, planning, scheduling, budgeting, data analysis, reporting, and presentations.

Requirements / Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with 7 years of work experience, or AA degree with 11 years of work experience. AA degree or equivalent credits in pursuit of a BS required.
  • Functional knowledge of engineering operations and planning, design and construction methods, and equipment installation/inspection.
  • Thorough knowledge of NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, BOCA Building Code, TJC regulations and all local, state and national building codes.
  • Must be accepted into the State of Maryland Stationary Apprenticeship Program.

Salary Range

Minimum $37.87/hour – Maximum $66.28/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
