Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a part-time Public Safety Officer to provide security for patients, staff and visitors at Milford, MA. The role includes patrolling facilities, inspecting entry points and recording incidents while coordinating with local authorities as needed.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and complete required training including Avade 2, annual competency reviews, and various safety certifications. Shift is evenings with on-site duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Complete hospital orientation and annual competency reviews.
• Annual re-certifications in CPR, fit testing for TB mask, Hazard Communication, Fire suppression and Hazard Recognition, Self Defense and Violent Situations, Emergency Response Team training.
• Avade 2 restraint training to be completed within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide security for patients, staff, visitors and hospital property.
• Periodically patrol hospital buildings and grounds.
• Inspect doors, windows and entry points; report unsecured entries and violations.
• Assist local authorities and hospital leadership with investigations and safety operations.
