The position is full-time (40 hours) with days from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Tuesday through Saturday. A high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and APCO Public Safety Telecommunicator 1 certification within

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Driver’s License required.
• APCO Public Safety Telecommunicator 1 certification within 12 months of employment.
• Minimum one year experience as a telephone operator or equivalent.
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job.

Aufgaben

• Receive and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Dispatch Public Safety Officers and other emergency services as needed.
• Monitor multiple communication channels and respond promptly to all requests for assistance.
• Maintain clear and accurate communication with Public Safety Officers, hospital staff, and external emergency responders.
• Relaying important information, updates, and instructions during emergencies or incidents.
• Track and manage deployment of security personnel and resources to ensure adequate coverage of the hospital premises.
• Maintain real-time awareness of location and status of all Public Safety Officers on duty.
• Record and maintain detailed logs of all incoming calls, incidents, and dispatch activities.
• Ensure accurate and thorough documentation of incident reports and related information.
• Assist in the implementation of emergency response plans and procedures during critical incidents.
• Provide guidance to staff and visitors regarding emergency evacuation procedures.
• Operate and monitor communication equipment, including two-way radios, telephones, and computer-aided dispatch systems.
• Perform routine checks and maintenance of communication equipment.
• Provide training and support to new Public Safety Dispatchers as needed.
• Stay current with emergency dispatch protocols and procedures.
