Job summary

Advocate Aurora Health, Inc. is seeking a Public Safety Telecommunicator for Park Ridge, IL. This part-time role is 20 hours per week with a 3rd shift from 10:00pm to 6:30am, including every other weekend and holidays.

Responsibilities include monitoring security systems, dispatching staff, and handling emergency and non-emergency communications. A GED or HS equivalency is required, with at least 1 year of alarm-response experience and APCO PSC-1 certification within 12 months.

Qualifications

• GED or HS Equivalency Diploma required.
• Minimum 1 year experience responding to alarms and monitoring security systems/hardware.
• APCO Public Safety Telecommunicator 1 certification within 12 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate security systems to maintain enterprise situational awareness.
• Dispatch and coordinate Public Safety staff via radio and CAD.
• Receive and input emergency and non-emergency calls into security systems.
• Evaluate information, determine severity, and prioritize responses.
• Maintain logs and central database information for operations.
• Communicate effectively in routine, urgent, and emergency situations.
