Job summary

Bon Secours Health System is seeking a Police Officer for St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond to provide internal and external safety services. You will respond to calls, conduct investigations, and participate in arrests as warranted, patrolling grounds and ensuring a safe environment for patients and staff.

The role requires firearms qualification, crisis intervention training, and a valid driver’s license. Richmond market exceptions apply for some requirements. Competitive benefits are included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required (Richmond market exception).
• Associate’s degree preferred.
• Non-violent crisis intervention training is required within 6 months of hire (Richmond market exception).
• Firearms qualifications; bi-annual qualifications required.

Responsibilities

• Protects patients, visitors and employees with escorts and patrols of hospital grounds.
• Deters criminal activity through routine patrols of parking areas and grounds.
• Enforces hospital policies including parking, visitation, drug enforcement and tobacco-free policies.
• Monitors activity via CCTV and responds to emergencies or alarms.
• Intervenes in confrontations and documents all duties performed.
• Maintains post integrity and ensures equipment and vehicles are secure.
