Job summary

MyMichigan Health in Michigan is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Trainee on job training through Pharmacy Technician University courses. This entry-level position will learn to use hospital EMR, dispense medications, and support pharmacists in daily duties.

During training, you will gain experience with IV compounding, dose preparation, inventory, and customer service in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of annual exam for Aseptic Technique within 90 days of hire and annually thereafter required.
• Computer experience required.
• Good math skills and strong organizational skills.
• Interpersonal skills to communicate with individuals and groups at all levels.
• Demonstrates competency in Microsoft Windows and willingness to participate in further training.

Responsibilities

• Runs reports, pulls medications and restocks Automated Dispensing Machines.
• Compounds IV and piggyback medications using aseptic technique.
• Assists in the setup of orders and expedites orders to nursing units.
• Replaces and fills floor stock; delivers to appropriate area and maintains UD area and IV room.
• Fills, reconciles and exchanges 24-hour UD medicine carts.
• Answers phone, retrieves tubes and faxes.
