Qualifications

• Successful completion of annual exam for Aseptic Technique within 90 days of hire and annually thereafter required.
• Computer experience required.
• Good math skills and strong organizational abilities.
• Team player with ability to work under pressure.
• Interpersonal skills needed to communicate with individuals and groups at all levels.
• Microsoft Windows competency expected.
• Medical terminology knowledge preferred.
• Medical center or retail pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Runs reports, pulls medications and restocks Automated Dispensing Machines, follows up on narcotic discrepancies, trouble-shoots problems, aides and trains nurses on dispensing problems.
• Performs sterile compounding per USP 797 guidelines and non-sterile compounding per USP 795 guidelines, uses protective equipment and cleans designated IV areas.
• Run labels using the computer in an accurate and timely manner.
• Fills, reconciles and exchanges 24 hour UD medicine carts using McKesson robot and EPIC.
• Repackages non-unit dose medications correctly using PacMed and McKesson repackager.
• Replaces and fills floor stock: EMS boxes, crash carts, open heart meds and anesthesia carts; completes monthly floor stock; stocks UD area and IV room.
