Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to support the hospital-wide unit-dose distribution system and IV admixture program. Under pharmacist supervision, you will prepare IV medications, fill unit dose orders, and assist with daily duties while maintaining data through the computer system.

You must be enrolled in a school of pharmacy or be a foreign graduate applying for an intern license in PA within 120 days.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a School of Pharmacy or a foreign pharmacy graduate who has applied for a Pharmacy Intern license in PA within 120 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness.
• Procure and distribute medication orders according to policies and procedures.
• Under direct supervision, fill routine orders for unit dose carts and IV admixture, including labeling and preparation.
