Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to provide distributive pharmacy support and assist the registered pharmacist. Responsibilities include processing medication orders, maintaining inventory, assisting customers with prescriptions, and supporting IV admixture preparation.

Requires completion of a pharmacy technician training program (or 1 year experience) and PA State Board registration by start date.

Qualifications

Completion of a pharmacy technician training program or 1 year equivalent experience.
Registration as Pharmacy Technician Trainee or Pharmacy Technician through the PA State Board before start date.
Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) or ExCPT Pharmacy Technician - NHA.

Responsibilities

Processes medication orders including computer order entry, medication preparation and assembles all items prior to pharmacist final check.
Maintains pharmacy inventory and supplies according to established policies and procedures.
Provides customer service by taking patient’s prescriptions and documenting all required information, handles all customer interactions in a courteous and efficient manner, and releases medications required by policy/procedure.
Outpatient and Inpatient tech duties including insurance adjudication and IV admixture preparation.
Other duties as assigned or requested.
