Job summary

Cardinal Health, Inc. is seeking a Pharmacist II for a hospital system pharmacy outsourced to Cardinal Health in Abilene, TX. The role involves dispensing medications, verifying orders, and supervising Pharmacy Technicians to ensure compliant operations.

The PRN pharmacist will work as-needed during facility hours and on-call, with hours typically 8AM-4:30PM on weekdays and on-call after hours and weekends. Strong clinical and communication skills required.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist licensed in Texas (active).
• Pharmacist degree required (PharmD or equivalent).
• IV certification or ability to obtain it.
• Hospital/inpatient pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify physician orders using pharmacy information systems.
• Supervise Pharmacy Technicians and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Adjust dosages per established protocols and contribute to antimicrobial stewardship.
• Educate patients on medication use and potential effects.
• Manage narcotics, inventory, and compliance tasks.
