Job summary

Mercy Medical Center is seeking a PBX Operator to deliver exceptional first impressions and handle calls with professional courtesy. Responsibilities include answering calls within 3 rings, transferring callers, relaying messages for physicians, paging as needed, and monitoring alarms and life safety codes.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for two years of switchboard experience and solid PC skills. Compensation reflects hourly wages with benefits eligibility.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Prefer two years of switchboard experience.
• Must possess computer/PC skills; general word processing and keyboard skills, including PC mouse, are required.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls to the Mercy Operator within 3 rings and transfer to the correct destination.
• Take and relay messages for physicians, including digital/alpha paging.
• Monitor alarms and life safety codes; execute emergency plans.
• Provide overhead paging services and assist with pagers provisioning and replacement.
• Demonstrate ability to use department hardware and software.
