Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a patient-focused Food Service Associate in Park Ridge, IL. The role handles patient meal orders, trays delivery, and diet changes while coordinating with nursing staff.

The position requires strong food service knowledge, excellent customer service and multitasking abilities in a hospital environment. Shift: 7:00–3:30pm, 40 hrs/week, rotating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• No formal education required.
• Minimum 1 year of face-to-face customer service.
• Strong hospital food service knowledge and patient interaction.
• Excellent communication with patients and nursing staff.

Responsibilities

• Acts as key contact between food and nutrition and the patient, managing meal orders.
• Delivers meals, collects trays, and ensures patient satisfaction with food items.
• Processes diet changes and documents allergies, preferences, and orders.
• Generates reports and communicates food service information to teams.
• Loads/transports carts and delivers trays to patient rooms per procedures.
• Maintains safe handling, gloves, and isolation precautions during service.
