Job summary

Advocate Health in Libertyville, IL is seeking a dedicated Food Service Worker to support patient meals and dining services. You will perform trayline duties, deliver meals, and maintain sanitation standards in a fast-paced hospital kitchen.

You must read and communicate in English, follow HIPAA guidelines, and work with a team to ensure timely service and accurate trays. Prior food service experience is preferred.

• Removes garbage and boxes per department standards and regulatory requirements.
• Washes and sanitizes pots and pans per standards.
• Uses proper safety techniques and body mechanics.
• Cleans and stores utensils, pots, pans, servingware and flatware.
• Performs daily and weekly cleaning assignments.
• Maintains equipment and alerts supervisor when malfunctioning.
• Delivers patient meal carts and trays that meet customer expectations, department standards and regulatory requirements.
• Delivers and retrieves meal trays and carts within designated time frame.
• Completes daily job assignments within the time parameters for the designated meal service.
• Remains aware of disaster plan policy for meal service.
• Sets up trayline positions and portions food according to menu specifications; replenishes items as supplies decrease.
• Correctly performs dishroom procedures and sets up dishroom station for striping dirty patient trays.
• Observes hospital/department guidelines concerning dress and display of name badge.
• Attends scheduled department meetings and inservices.
• Provides a high quality dining experience meeting nutritional requirements, temperature, timeliness and food quality; uses performance improvement processes.
