Job summary

Elevate Patient Financial Solutions is seeking a dedicated Patient Advocate in Duluth, MN to guide uninsured hospital patients through financial assistance programs. This full-time, on-site role involves direct interaction with patients in their hospital rooms, assisting with eligibility assessments and applications.

You will collaborate with case managers and social workers, manage a workflow queue, and document case progress while maintaining compassionate service in a fast-paced hospital

Qualifications

• Some college coursework preferred.
• Prior hospital experience preferred.
• Adaptability with changing processes and programs.
• Experience with state and federal programs is a plus.
• Strong critical thinking and problem solving.
• Ability to navigate hospital environments and patient rooms.
• Effective written and oral communication.
• Able to multitask in a fast-paced setting.
• Must have a valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Screen uninsured hospital patients for eligibility for federal/state programs.
• Complete applications and follow through until approved.
• Document cases accurately in company and hospital systems.
• Provide exceptional customer service at all times.
• Participate in trainings to apply new content with patients.
• Coordinate with hospital staff and social services.
• Handle phone calls and track enrollment/renewal processes.
• Maintain regular contact with applicants and agencies.
• Assist applicants with obtaining additional records and arranging transportation.
• Request home visits to obtain documentation when needed.
• Inform clients of approvals or denials promptly.
• Stay abreast of changes in government program rules.
