Job summary

PACS Group is hiring a cook to manage and operate the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. The role requires preparing meals in a hospital or long-term care setting, following menus, and ensuring safety and sanitation.

Pay ranges from $22.00 to $26.00 per hour, depending on experience. The job includes responsibilities such as supervising dietary staff when needed, handling special diets, and maintaining accurate food temperatures and quality.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of cook experience in a hospital or long-term care facility.
• Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certificate; PCC preferred; comply with Department of Public Health requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Prepare tasteful meals and cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Follow prepared menus and portion control guides.
• Prepare special diets accurately.
• Record food temperatures for meals.
• Assist with serving the different meals.
• Clean cooking area and serving carts.
• Report resident care concerns to Administrator/Director of Nurses.
• Supervise dietary staff in absence of Dietary Supervisor.
