Job summary

PACS is seeking a hospital/long-term care cook to manage and operate the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. You will maintain a safe, sanitary kitchen and prepare meals in large quantities according to menus.

Strong record-keeping of temperatures, portion control, and adherence to cleaning schedules are required. ServSafe certification is mandatory; prior hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience as a cook in a hospital or long-term care facility preferred (minimum 1 year).
• Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Prepare meals in large quantities following menus and portion guides.
• Follow recipes and comply with special diets; ensure accurate portion control.
• Record food temperatures; prepare pureed foods as needed.
• Supervise or assist dietary staff; assist with serving meals.
• Ensure cleaning schedules are followed and report issues to supervisors.
