Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• West Virginia PoC License.
• Six months of Phlebotomy, Lab Assistant or Cytopreparatory experience.
• Phlebotomy Certification CPT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare specimens for basic diagnostic procedures.
• Operate laboratory equipment/instrumentation for basic testing and specimen processing.
• Prepare reagents and solutions required to complete specimen processing and testing.
• Perform quality control procedures under supervision to ascertain reliability of reagents and equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance and quality control of laboratory equipment/instrumentation.
• Report test results with limited errors and in a timely manner.
• Utilize time, materials, and resources efficiently to support patient care and throughput.
• Complete assigned workload within established turnaround times.
• Communicate unusual supply usage or critical supply levels to Supervisor/Manager.
• Communicate unusual medical/technical problems or unusual patient results.
• Perform clerical duties as needed to support laboratory operations.
