Job summary

JMC Jefferson Medical Center is seeking a Phlebotomy/Lab Assistant to support specimen collection and processing in a hospital setting. You will collect, store and transport specimens while performing clerical tasks and basic data entry to ensure efficient patient care.

The role requires a High School Diploma, WV PoC license, and 6 months of phlebotomy or lab assistant experience. Preferred CPT certification and ability to work with lab software and equipment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• West Virginia Point of Care Technician (PoC) License.
• Phlebotomy Certification (CPT) preferred.
• Six months of Phlebotomy, Lab Assistant or Cytopreparatory experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare specimens for basic diagnostic procedures.
• Operate laboratory equipment and instrumentation per SOPs.
• Prepare reagents and solutions for specimen processing and testing.
• Perform quality control to ensure reliability of reagents and equipment.
• Report test results accurately and timely.
• Communicate supply usage and issues to supervisor.
• Handle clerical duties to support lab operations.
