Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking a Laboratory Support role to collect, process, store and transport specimens and perform clerical duties in support of patient care.

The position requires minimum education with a PoC license and phlebotomy experience. It involves heavy lifting, shifts across facilities, and routine equipment operation to ensure timely patient results.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• West Virginia PoC License is required.
• Six months of phlebotomy, lab assistant, or cytopreparatory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare specimens for basic diagnostic procedures.
• Operate lab equipment for testing and processing.
• Prepare reagents and solutions for processing/testing.
• Perform quality control on reagents and equipment.
• Conduct routine maintenance and QC of equipment.
• Report test results with minimal errors and promptly.
• Use resources efficiently to support patient care and workload.
